Key Verses for Prayers in the Spirit

Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:18)

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us[ with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (Romans 8:26-27)

He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. (1 Corinthians 14:4)

But you, dear friends, must build up your lives ever more strongly upon the foundation of our holy faith, learning to pray in the power and strength of the Holy Spirit. (Jude 1:20)

Different Types of Prayer:

•         Prayer for Enemies: But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Luke 6:2-28

•         Prayer for Healing: Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16

•         Prayer of Faith: But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:6

•         Faithful Prayer: Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12

•         Prayer of Confidence: Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16

•         Prayer for Revelation: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:3

•         Consistent Prayer: Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thess 5:16-18

•         Praying God's Will: This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 1 John 5:14
